We use NAPA as much as possible, their parts are far more superior than the junk the big O sells. I know most of us don't build a hot rod with fuel mileage in mind so this won't apply in those cases. The sound is great but, I'm not a fan of the Mother Thumper line of cams, they use over fueling...

It's worth the money, to me, to go roller. I've been through that process a couple times and in the long run it's cheaper. I don't pretend to know everything but, I do know that.

Have you checked the intake flange, with a straight edge, to see if it's flat? Both ways

For an easy project, I'd get something with a chassis with suspension and go from there.

You can depend on the members to help you through parts and processes. The number one killer of completing a project is taking too long getting to the point of enjoying it.

I love the sound of it. Melling makes good cams. I installed a retro fit Melling roller cam with Comp Cam roller lifters for around $700 in a SBC here awhile back after a flat tappet failure.

Make sure to have clearance bag to bracket because, some bags balloon out when airing them up.

Right on, Ill get one done today Is the three inches from the bottom of the bolt head or top of the bolt head? The bolt head looks thinner than a standard bolt measure that for me too.
