Well, it looks old! :D I'd say maybe early 70's at the latest, maybe earlier because of the steel gas tank, haven't seen those in years.

You'll probably have to find a old small engine shop with paper books, doubt there is much on the web on those, but you never know...

I have an old rototiller that needs a motor .
Yesterday I bought a Mac 110 chainsaw,this motor,and a lawnmower for 16 bucks

My old man had a Wizard tiller he bought new back in around 66 that came with a 3hp Briggs. When it finally wore out, he replaced it with a 4hp one. The 3hp looked about like the one you have Billy.

Maybe I'll try it
Got nothing g to lose

It'd be good for a minibike, for small people. (Your sidekick for example.;))

5HP would be better for bigger kids, or adults who don't want to go anywhere fast...

.
A tote goat type thing is what i had in mind
Fat knobby tires so wide you don't need a kick stand

I just bought a tote gote

Yep
Biker (hardass)billy they call me.
VROOM! SKREE! etc

I'm not into military type stuff, but I like the old Cushman look. This change in small engines is something else that just sort of happened w/o me noticing, that now they are all OHV. Regarding the tiller engine size match, I'm pretty sure the one my folks had was 3 1/2 horse. I bought an old tiller 4 or so years back that has a 5 horse flat head on it, & I'm thinking it also has the steel tank. I never thought about it until more recently, that it might be pretty old. I think all of these changes took place while we were living outside of North America, and I'm still 'catching up', after now 14 years back in the States.

Searching for info on the scooter
It is a sidekick made in Denver around 1965
Someone added Cushman front shocks
