Ah.. Another Binder!
Ok.. Finally got done with everyone elses stuff and freed up some room in the shop so I'm gonna get started on mine! The first pic is of the 40's International cab that I got for FREE!! The roof was pretty smashed up but I couldn't complain for the price! I'll be starting with the chop, I'm doing a 4" and yes this is my first chop but I've done allot of sheet metal fab and body work so I don't think it will be a problem. I think my wife was more nervous about me chopping the top then I was!!(no confidence!!) So I measured everything and marked it and taped it, then braced it all up inside with some old half inch pipe I had laying around. Then began cutting, started with the doors using a porta band saw, then the front of the cab and then the back using a sawzall and a angle grinder with a cut off wheel. Used a cherry picker to support the roof. That's about all I got done tonight, I'll get some more done tomorrow. If you guys have any suggestions please feel free to post em and by all means if you see me doing something wrong please tell me. Here's a few pics.....

4" chop, 3" channel, 2x3 tube frame, 4" drop ford axle, 32 ford grille, 350 sbc, 4 speed trans, ford 9 inch rear and custom box.

Thanks for sharin i have extra IH cab also and it will be my first chop so i will be watchin to see how your doing looks good and thanks again .l

Yeah theres not a whole lotta rot in it. The rockers are ate up at the very bottom but the cab sat on the ground for god knows how many years. The rockers was actually buried in the ground about three inches. But it'll be a easy fix.

Not much to show you guys today. I figured while I had the top cut off now would be a good time to hammer and dolly the dents outta the roof and man was there allot of em!! I also removed the panel that covers the wiper motors as it was rusty and for access to more dents (I think someone used this cab as a trampoline) I drilled all the spot welds out and carefully removed the panel so I can put it back in once I repair it. I also vacuumed about 60 years of mud dobbers out from in between the double panel around the rear window.

Worked the last couple of days so didn't get to work on the truck untill today. First I made around 35 butt weld clamps (that took up a good portion of the day) then I started on that overhead panel that covers the wiper motors. I cut out the huge rust hole then formed some sheet metal to fit then wha la!! No more hole.........
