Well, last Sunday night my 2016 ram work truck was removed from my driveway with out my permission. It was recovered 1/2 mile from my house 3 days later and it was was empty. Not that there was a lot of tool or other goodies in it, but there was some small stuff.

Now I'm in fortify mode!! New lighting on the parking area, motion sensors around the property and gates!!!

I scored some old structural beams from my wrecking yard buddy and some other random bits to build an awesome entry way. I'm just going to put some panel gates up for now and I will build gates in the spring!

man I hate thiefs...
Glad it was found! That close to home...? [S
Place a trainhorn under the backseat and connect it to the start position of the ignition switch... ;) I`m sure you will find the rat killed by a heart attack :D

You’re lucky. One of my cousins sons car was stolen in Birmingham AL a few weeks ago. When finally found, the steering column was busted and all 4 wheels were gone. His insurance totaled it. It was one of those Kia’s they say that are so easy to steal. Your Dodge is a high target for thieves. Most of them involve being stripped.

I hate thieves also. I figured it was gone for good, we had an older Cummins stolen at my old work and I had parts of it show up on a young kids truck I was installing a flat bed on. He wasnt the one who stole it. He gave the cops the facebook post and address for the chop shop that had the rest of the truck. They didn't even go down there. The last time my work truck was ransacked, the crack head ****ed his pants cause I confronted him at 3am in my undies with a .45, he wasn't expecting that!! It's early, I was up late working on my post mounts for the gates. Now to start digging. The old timber isn't tall enough to bury and have enough clearance for the top rail. So I rat rodded these heavy 5' tall mounts to attach them to. I can't hardly scoot them out to grab them with the mini hahaha. Wish me luck

I hate thieves too! Mrs Tripper had an Escalade & it got broken into several times! This is the stupid thing about burglar alarms... if they break the glass & crawl in not opening the doors, the alarm won't go off so I had a glass break alarm installed! They still broke in! One time they broke in & only stole her makeup bag & left cash money there... go figure! What they took was hardly worth it but cost me around a grand to repair & the hassle of getting the window replaced! I tried & tried to catch them to no avail. They even broke into my truck & stole a mini iPod worth about $100! We moved about a year later!

When someone tried to break into my garage at my old house a couple months after I had a tire slashed on the driveway, I went into overdrive. Security cameras, industrial deadbolts, reinforced door frames and doors. After that I had a few instances where the neighbors asked me to check my cameras when someone went through their vehicles. Every time, the person clearly avoided my house because they knew I had cameras. I just had a simple Lorex setup from Costco.

Where we are now, everything but the trailers gets parked inside.

I've even installed fake video cameras that have a red blinking light! They seemed to do the trick & were about $25 ea!

Stack the next thief up on the roadway out front, it puts an end to the stacked one and discourages his brethren!

Thanks guys, the neighbors and I think at the would be best just to throw the noose over the top of the entryway. I think a stack of bodies might be easy to miss, one swinging in the wind would be a lot easier for unwanted people to see.
I have wasted my morning driving around getting parts for stuff to be Miss packaged and missing pieces. I did however get the ditch dug across the driveway and ran a couple conduits back and forth for power and low voltage. I'm running back to the hardware store to get what I need and hopefully get the operators installed

Been in the retail business since the 1970's and right now the thieving that we have going on now is out of control totally...they load up carts with merchandise and just walk out the door...drives me nuts...

So thankful you got most of your stuff back...

There is scumbag born everyday and then we meet them face to face...never fun...

Good luck with the fortifications...they look awesome from here

Thanks guys. It was a little stressful trying to get this done before the weather really goes south. But it is done for now. I have a few small things to do with the metal fence to tie it together. But I will knock that out next weekend hopefully.

Awesome work. We want to put in a power operated gate maybe next year to help keep the riff raff out. Our driveway is paved though, so I'm hoping we can get away with a single swing gate rather than have to dig up the asphalt.
