A couple of pics from todays adventure. Motor and trans are mounted. Not 100% welded. But they are supporting themselves!!
Need to tweak my trans mount just a hair. But an easy fix.

Today we stretched our brains and did some steering! Let me tell you what it looks crazy but it could not have gone smoother. It opened up some cans of worms. Nothing we cant handle just more work!! In the long run run will be way cooler!!

That's quite the engineering challenge you just conquered![cl[cl
Where did you get the right angle drive box?

Thanks , I cant believe it works so smooth.

The right angle box is out of an 80s v.w. vangon. They call it a relay steering box

What's the power unit from? Does it stand alone? No sensors, no electronics?

.

It is made by unisteer. It is a completely electric power steering unit. All the sensors and everything are built into it it has a small computer box that mounts up somewhere out of the way and has two power leads going to it

I went this route with power steering on this because the new cars all use electric power steering. There are no Provisions for a pump with these motors. There's guys that are building kits to put power steering pumps on them but I knew we were already going to have enough mess and nonsense going on in the front end that I figured it would be just as easy to go this route

Progress on the van!! Started the front sheet metal around the intercooler. Now I just have to match it on the other side!!

Got my speed hut gauges For the van. They plug in and work off the factory harness. Should be a simple install.

Much to come on this in the next few weeks. I am currently laid off from my main job due to the death virus. So I am quarantining myself in the shop for the next couple weeks. Hope to get lots done!
