Me and my dad started another project. We were getting wore out on the other one because of slow progress. We are still working on it. Anyway a little over a year ago i bought another 50 ford cab and front clip. And then 6 months ago i bought a s10 with the intention of a frame swap somewhere down the line. Well about 6 weeks ago we picked the s10 up. and decided to go for it. We striped alot of weight off of it, Then did some burnouts:D then took the rest apart. The s-10 was a rusty extended cab 2wd with a 2.8l v6 with 180K on the clock. Now for the pics.

We shortened the frame 8 inches. the factory seams between the front and back were grinded then pulled apart. Then put the back into the front section after cutting the 8 inches out and tacked and measured.

this is where we ended up last night. The fenders still need to sit lower, but there getting closer. i want to either run black steelies with WWW or a crager ss or a vintage style rim. The exhaust will leave at 45degrese right before the rear wheels. i still need to get wheel spacers and a wider rearend. but i think im going to worry about mounting the body first.

Looks like a good way to build that truck. It appears to be pretty rust free for Minnesota. Four wheel drive S-10 rear ends are about 4" wider. You should be able to snag one for 75 bucks.

The cab is really solid, the front end is caked with peeling bondo. Thanks for the info.

love the paint! going to leave it that way?

Finally got more done last weekend. We moved the tranny crossmember down and sandblasted and painted it while it was out. Then we made the body mounts. The last picture is what you get when you leave parts outside for a day in minnesota. :D

Another picture of the rear cab mount. We used hockey pucks for the cushion. The cab is mounted solid now. We also mounted the hood but the springs havnt been used for 20+ years so they dont really want to go down yet even after a shower with Wd40. Were next going to work on getting the front fenders mounted, then we can run brake and fuel lines. then wire her up.
