Torchie.

Excellent! And congrats on the mag photo.

Thanks guys!

I did some running around with it yesterday, it's sure running well. With the 165 thermostat and all the airflow I have it's sure running cold, I couldn't be happier. With the 455 I don't have to break 1/4 throttle to get it to move quickly [cl.

I'll take it to a local cruise night tonight, finally :D

Well, took the truck to Goodguys Spokane in August. We took the scenic route getting there, and I think I put at least 2600 KM (~1600 miles) during the trip. My truck now has over 6100 KM (~3800 miles) on it in a year that it has been on the road. I had a few minor issues during the trip but most are solved or will be soon.

I had some vapor lock problems, but when it's +35°C, sitting in traffic, and the electric fan is working all the time, it all contributes to lots of heat. Hopefully now that I fixed the fan this won't be as much of an issue.

In two weeks I'll be taking off to Radium with it for their fall show.

Good for you and have fun with it.:D
Torchie.

Thanks Torchie.

I had a neutral safety switch issue that was easily solved but resulted in me missing the ferry and having to wait another hour and a half.

I just need to install my cruise control and work out a couple small bugs for the next trip. I'll probably put on another 1400 km on it going to radium :D

Hi Snopro, Congrats, on going to Spokane.
A buddy of mine from Grande Prairie, Carman Sipe, roared down to Spokane with a group of you guys, also. I wonder if you met up with him. He drove a hand built '65 black Mustang fastback. He sold me my '36 pick up about 15 years ago.
I always wanted to go on one of those rod runs.

I wasn't on the Western Canada Powercruise so he didn't cruise down with us, and I don't recall his car, but I'm sure I probably saw it at the show. We took the scenic route down via Golden, Nakusp, Nelson, Creston, etc. The Powercruise guys missed all the garage tours Thursday, which were awesome!

[cl[cl[cl:cool: Nice Ride!!!

Thanks!

Well I sure don't update this very much...

Now that it has over 14,000 KM I'm doing a thorough check-over of a bunch of things to ready it for another cruising season. Things like re-packing the wheel bearings, tightening bolts and hose clamps, etc.

I had a small antifreeze leak that I couldn't figure out. It would leak a couple days after I drove it and leave a few spots on the floor. Or it would leak a little while driving but not consistently, I would see the antifreeze dripping off the frame or steering and I could not figure out where it was leaking from. So I set about to tighten all the clamps on the cooling system, and it started dripping from the upper rad hose on the radiator. The clamp was actually coming apart! Good thing that didn't happen on the road! She's all fixed up now.

Just a few more things and I can put it back down on the ground!

My truck is all spiffed up for our wedding, this is what it looks like with Patina Sauce on it in the sun.

Torchie, having used both Linseed Oil (on wood projects) and Patina Sauce, I really don't think they're that similar. The colour, viscosity, scent, and the way they dry is different.
