We start getting rust about 15 minutes after baring the metal with our humidity! I know your issue well!

So sorry for your and your Mrs. loss. Life gets tough sometimes, and we have to enjoy it while we have it.

I knew I was pushing my luck. Usually it's hot and dry around here.

Default Progress..........

After holding class for my grandson on how to replace the head on your Dodge/Cummins diesel when you can't afford to pay some one to do it, we got back to the Willys.

Got the engine/transmission in it's final resting place and got the mounts tacked in place.
Then we pulled the cab off and started working on the rusting bare metal issue. My bride started whining about the paint gun being too big for her hands so she was put on wipe down and primer mixing duty. We got the cab primed on the outside and will get the inside and the bed primed in the next couple of days.

Still have some skimming to do with a thin coat of body filler.
She didn't like it when I told her that alot of the primer would be sanded off to get the metal flatter before paint.
She had no idea what was involved in the body work.

Don't give up, it's far too much fun once you can drive it.

I like seeing young people taking interest in how and what it takes to fix something.
The ole Willys is gonna be very cool
