Default We Rented A Drag Strip

45 of us rented Rock Falls Raceway today. Had a good variety of cars and the cool, cloudy weather was perfect. This was the first time out with 3 two barrels on the dragster. It was also the first time we had traction problems with the car. Still managed to run personal bests on several runs. 11.32 was the best.
Here's the little dragster, then Frank's tube chassised 'Vette which ran 8.80's,followed by Gruber's blown 383 sbc '55 chevy. Then there's Schlor's big block '37 Chevy and a cute sbf powered MG. Terry & Lee's shortened Stude ran 10.00's today and Bearded Bob's big block truck motored '37 ran low 12's. Toms digger has a small block Mopar engine and was in the 8's. Odie's Deuce Chevy was sporting a new big block and was in the 10.30's. Throw in a nicely built Model A coupe for good measure.
Thanks to Dave for doing a splendid driving job and to Jerry for helping out.

Thanks for the pictures, descriptions, ET's and the Chevy coupes.

Congratulations on your quickest runs as well. Why do you have traction issues? My memory is crap sometimes... did you recently add a trans brake and now you're "striking the tires"?

Don't give up, it's far too much fun once you can drive it.

Dr. C., Driver Dave was successful with the trans brake. I relocated the button. Reaction times were off but it didn't matter. Not much track prep. Starting line was okay but nobody lost their shoes because of track glue.

BTW, Dave beat a Hellcat thingie.

Now, I need to figure out how to put nitrous on a 3 carb log manifold set up.
