Don't give up, it's far too much fun once you can drive it.

I got the car off the trailer and went to a friend's yesterday to take a spindle off of a Camaro in his yard. I'll get pics when I start disassembling the front end.

I seriously got shivers reading this account bud. Somehow the chances of the breakdown happening where it did are way too slim to be coincidence. Drove semis over that pass a couple of times, OMG!
Really happy to see you are here to be telling us.

Thanks! I got a pretty good case of the shivers myself while I was waiting to be rescued. There were so many IF's that were involved, It's a wonder things weren't much worse. I got the new shocks yesterday, and the rest of the suspension parts should be here Tuesday. I'll post the progress on my build thread as I take the suspension apart and reassemble with new, Moog and Viking components. (And a good used spindle, just in case the old one was wallowed out at all.)

Smart thinking on your part to replacing the spindle too, many wouldn't!

My dad has had a shop for many years, and of course would occasionally see a vehicle towed in where a ball joint came apart. The ones he has seen were always at the socket joint, not the threads. Glad you're okay!

I spent most of Sunday removing a good portion of the interior from my summer daily. We've been getting lots of rain and I found the pad under the seat and under the trunk carpet were both wet. I dried everything out, believe I found the leaks (time will tell) and hopefully solved them. Considering I started with replacing the fuel pump and didn't get that done yet because i'm waiting for the strap bolts to soak in penetrating fluid, it was a weekend of mixed results.

Hopefully next weekend I can actually work on my other cars as I was hoping to this weekend.

House is coming along well. I wonder if you should be working under those conditions though.
