hey y'all, have surface rust on floor boards. What is the best stuff to remove and prep for paint?? I'll throw a pic on here son (1953 Chieftain 2 door).

It's not called rust 'round these parts. It's called patina, alright? Just wanna' get that straight.
Now back to your patina problem, usually this is not a problem but since you seem intent on removing it I would suggest some sand paper. Now that's just me. Not too sure about all these other folk here, maybe they all will raise a thought or two.

Media blasting or use a chemical rust converter.
