I wish it was that easy here. Maybe I should send you the bill of sale and have you put it in your name and then I can get it back from you lol

It has been done that way many times! Not by me, but I know some folks that did it.

We don’t have to worry about it being in our name, we can get insurance without it being registered. A buddy of mine bought a Datsun 210 from an estate, the title had been lost and the owner had died. He got a tag for it and insurance, and never filed for a title. Like the old saying around here, ownership is 9/10 of the law, as long as it’s not being driven on a public road you don’t have to register it. A bill of sale is proof of ownership on anything old enough to not require a title. I think the title requirement came from the feds, we didn’t have them until 1975. When I see something for sale older than that and they say they have a clear AL title, I wonder how they got it because the state never issued it. Now, if it’s older than 35 years old, AL won’t even issue a new title even if it’s replacing a lost one or if it’s changing hands.

So yeah, we got it good! Drag a hunk o junk out of the woods, get a bill of sale, you good to go!

Well stay patrol inspection went smooth as anticipated. Took it down and got it all transferred into my name and licensed. Can't believe they made me licensed a vehicle that doesn't run but that's what I was told I had to do.

So if anyone's interested in a 52 Chevy let me know

So the bug has struck again, looking at 3 53 Buicks! 2 have titles 1 is a parts car. I have always wanted to build a chopped and sectioned lead sled. These are a little different, not a merc. But for $1000 for all 3, not sure I can pass it up!!

I've looked at a couple of that era Buick over the years. The ones I saw were viciously rotten. Hopefully you have better luck. I love the shape of them, they make cool sleds.

They are on the west side of the state which is way better than my side. I'm sure there will be rust. It will be a big project, slow and time consuming. I will go look at them and see. I will keep ya posted

Buick was still using the closed torque tube driveshaft. Not impossible to replace, but figure on a complete new rear suspension if you go with a open driveline. With your fab skills, should be a walk in the park.

I figured all new suspension front and rear. Just spit ballin hahaha.
