So glad Sam came home! It's such a helpless feeling when a pet goes missing, especially when they're older.

 so glad you found him. we lost two of our old dogs in the last year, one was 14 and the other was 16. they take your heart and never give it back, even when they are gone. now i got to dry my eyes.

Lots of dog lovers here. I very much appreciate everyone's comments. I've been hugging Sam so much I'm afraid he'll run away just to have some peace and quiet.
To those who have lost a dog, we lost Sam's half sister, Lily, a year ago and know the pain. I know Sam's time is not far away.
