engine installed pics

here are a few pics of the engine set back and the oil pan clearence.
looks like one of the early drag cars with the engine in the cab.

today's plan; tranny crosmember, find a drive shaft the right size in my big pile of driveshafts, dash configuration for guages and switches, start to figure out how the tranny/firewall will go together. some how make it removable like a van, l can use zues fasteners so l can get in to time the thing and change plugs and wires.

Later[P

today's stuff

found the perfect driveshaft in my hoard of ones l been stashing away for 20 years. l knew some day l'd use one or two:rolleyes:
got more of the dash mocked up and found the VDO anitque white/gold guages l'm using, they look nice.

cleaned out the cab, found some stuff l DON'T EVER want to know what it is or used to be. l have to raise the seat about 6'' so l can see over the hood.
gonna put a 1/16'' X 6'' piece of flat metal under the 1977 nova split bench seat mounts , then that will be welded to the stock seat frame. the stock seat frame is welded to the floor, this will work out great.

sorry it took so long to answer this question, did not do an inventory of everyting i have till last night.

a stock raditor, mine was a new one, but seems to be M I A somewhere.

a 7'' power booster, the big one hits the valve covers.

taillights or ideas. l have a set of maltese cross lights, not sure if l want them on the truck though:confused:

Skull,
I think this is a great idea & I think we all support you in it! Please keep us posted!,Beercan

:D l can't tell ya guys how much the support yer givin' me means to me!!'

digging thru the storage shed last night l found a can of viper red l have left over from a roadster build. that got me thinking the truck would look good red, and since red was jimmy's favorite color it will be cool.

maybe it's fate l found the red paint, l ain't seen that can in years

title

had feelers out for a titlte, a man called me and asks what and why l need this for, tell him what's going on and he stated;
''ok you will have one soon, NO CHARGE donated to the build''.
l was speechless:)

must be a sign that things are going to work out ok on the truck, finding parts and pieces for this build has been easier than any other i've done.

I'll pass all your'e good wishes to this man for helping:D

classic license plate

the license plate l put in storage 8 years ago l got it out to look at and get ready to put on the truck when it gets to the stage of licensing her.
lm washington state, we have the antique/classic licensing good forever so it won't have to be renewed every year and having the period correct plate is nice.

kinda wierd how it has a J as the only letter in the sequence.
again, fate, J for jimmy?.........

tail lights are maltese cross.

look what l found in my driveway!!

wow, it looks like a truck, now have take it all apart for a few details, like welding in cross member and motor mounts.

lots little things, wiring, sound deadning and a bunch of odds and ends.
gotta figure out how to lower the rear of the frame to better fill in the rear fenderwell. l think taller tires would fill them, but it will make it set even higher in the rear.

how many say--- paint her red[S

how many say--- l like her now, leave the patina alone. [S

being a rat rod site l have a feeling, leave it will be the majority[P

Later:cool:

there are NOT enough words or thanks to those helping me

Nice progress! :)

The truck looks good, but I personally don't think the patina is great looking. I would say fix the rust and dents and paint it red. Good luck! :)
