Rookie

Thanks for letting me join a site with such valuable information. I have never built a rat rod, but I am going to try and learn. I live in southern Tn and have several friends with rods. Recently my nine year old son has started wanting me to build one so here I am. I have purchased so far a 1947 Chevy p/u and bed, a 1970's (not sure of exact year) one ton Chevy with a 350 and 4 speed trans, and then purchased a straight axle front end out of a 40's Ford. My idea is to build my own frame and have a 1947 one ton kinda like the Camel Toeing truck I have saw on Youtube. I have done a little homework on the dually rear end and found one that had a utility bed so it is narrower than normal. Wish me luck and any input to help me out would be well appreciated Thanks.
