Being a cheap set, the speedo is mechanical so a GPS module won't work... - for that matter, neither would the volt meter, its display is for a 12V charging system whereas for this setup it would need to display 0 to 48 Volts of discharge...

While the body tub is at the upholstery shop getting the interior and top done, I disassembled the chassis, cleaned it up and painted everything yesterday. Put it back together today and rolled it out for some daylight pics

That thing is just too cool.

'Zackly what I was going for...

Got the interior panels and seat stitched up, brought it home for the weekend to do some bodywork before they make the top.

Been busy doing bodywork and paint the last week and a half, now its all done, time to re-assemble. Bled the brakes, dropped the body on and installed the wiring harness that I made up awhile ago.

Beautiful work, I love those protracs. I ran a set on my truck back in the early 90s.

Moving along with assembly, interior put together and dash in, wiring done except for tail lights, hood and side on too. I'm pretty happy with the dash, I just put the second spray of urethane clear on it yesterday - the "Cabernet" stain on the oak goes nicely with the wheel color and the burgundy vinyl. Got the first test drive today, the 11" disc brakes work excellently - got something funky going on with the controller with an annoying 7 second delay after switching into forward or reverse - but when working, it really scoots!!
