Oh I was born in a city too, previous home had an apartement building at the back door and a crappy looking house up front... Neighbours didnt care much for me and my rusty crap either... :p

No horse could drag me back into civilization

I've got 2 1/2 acres within 2 miles of every convenience I could want. Planted 1,200 trees and bushes when we built the place 23 years ago. Now, we have lots of privacy. Lots of parts stashed under the trees. Got snow and cold much too early this year.

1. Out the back door
2. Spring river flood
3. Side door - A bald eagle feasting on a fish that was trapped after the flood
4. Side door about 10 feet from the house.
5. Back door with a doe and fawn out in the beans.
6. Front door with the barn foundation just getting cleaned up this week.

Wow Bill, beautiful shots.... you guy's are killin me... I'm with
Soltz, if you guy's saw mine you'd feel bad for me...hiway out
the front and trailer park out the rear...used to have a place
sort of in the country, thought I wanted to have a " better "
location for a body shop.....ended up renting a building at
the end of town and never using my garage ......shoulda
stayed in the country....

I love living in the country, heck I'd be ran out of the city within 27 and a 1/2 minutes [ddd

Out the front door. There's two creeks that run together year round, I just missed the one to the right by that much :D

Out the back door. It goes a 1/4 mile to the north.

My nearest neighbor who has 140 acres to the east and south of me.

My other neighbor who has 300 acres to the west of me.

The other neighbor can't be seen at all. I have 21 acres in the middle of a combined 1500 owned by half a dozen people and will never have anyone closer than these two because of the 100 year flood plains.

I moved from Denver to a small town on the left coast in 1987. When I came back to Colorado 6 years later I couldn't imagine living in the city again so I landed here. Our home is about 400 feet above the Elk River Valley on the of North side of Deer Mountain. We're on 10 acres but most of it is behind the house going up a steep hill. Aside from the spot the house is built on, there is a nice flat 3/4 acre spot down on the east end of the property about 90 yards from the house that I hope to one day build a shop. It's kind of down hill and around the corner of the hill so you wouldn't be able to see it from the house. My wife likes that, as she's not a fan of my treasures / junk. I snapped the photo below a few week ago of low clouds & dissipating fog in the valley below us. Off to the left in the distance is "Sleeping Giant" It always looks small in pictures but it's huge as we look out our bedroom window.
