Thanks! Well, the color is off but it is flat red and at least now it’s solid and that was the goal. Should have it back on this week.

I thought about leaving it in primer; tried mixing some white with the red but it looked pink. Finally said the hell with it and used the red.

regular bottle of peroxide, cup of vinegar, couple spoons of salt. rough the paint up a little and put it all in a spray bottle and keep it wet a while.

it will also flash rust on bare metal.

Got a bunch done today. Hood is on, set the pinion angle on the rearend and welded the spring pads on, and replace a broken spring mount on the frame. Rearend back in tomorrow and start plumbing all the brakes.

Just about road test ready. I put all new brakes, brake lines, and shocks on the back. I got my hydraulic clutch conversion finished up and it works good. I had to get the pinion side of the driveshaft changed to a small Chrysler unjoint and should have that back Monday. Then just a few odds and ends and we can call it done.

I took a real scientific approach. I looked up slave cylinders on Amazon and picked one that looked like it would be easy to build a bracket for and had the same hose fitting as the clutch master.
