Do you have a title for the truck? if not your going to have to go through inspection more than likely, I don't know the laws in Ohio trying looking them up or talk to Department of licensing, but here in Washington you build your vehicle get it inspected pretty much a safety check, it will then either the get a Street Rod title or a Title that represents the closest year of vehicle. Ohio is a sema state so it should be fairly easy. You will get a new tag that might look familiar to this or many others. I suggest you read through this article and go talk to DOL. http://www.streetrodderweb.com/hotnews/1012sr_can_they_outlaw_hot_rodding/index.html

You will NOT get away with titling it as an S-10, so don't let that be a factor in your decision. While Ohio police are generally cool in regards to older vehicles, it has to look at least similar to what it is titled as. Anything else is a quick trip to the impound with little to no hope of retrieval...

i didnt say you would get away with titling as an s-10 but if he has proof that we owns the frame it shouldn't be a problem. now if its the original frame and cab but no title the you will get a new vin tag(see attachment). custom frame will get a new tag for itself.
