Thanks all.
So to give my mind a rest from that wagon I unearthed to grill from the Dodge and put it up on the bench in Mrs. T's studio.(She has heat.)
I stuck this together with self tapping screws. I don't have stainless welding capabilities.
Pic 1-3. A reminder of what the highly modified 50 Cornet grill now looks like.
Pic. 4. The self tappers. I don't dig the hex head.
Pic.5. Stainless machine screw. I took one of these and ground the head down flat. I had hoped to get rid of the X but it goes too deep.
Pic 6. Meh.....
Pic.7. This is one of the self tappers with the hex area ground off. Good thing this is just the mock up. I'm not as steady as I was with the grinder.
Pick.8. Using the stock screw head. It's alright.
Pic 9. From a distance none of them are really that noticeable. This is from about 5 foot away.
At this point i like the looks of the ground down self tapper the best.
I'm open to any and all suggestions.
let's hear it.
Torchie.
Keep on keeping on......

I love that whole pancaked stupid wide look of it. the grill fits seamless in the theme.
Can`t you borrow someone`s roll of stainless mig wire and a bottle of argon to poop it all into one piece? Works just like welding mild steel.

good to see you back at it

Thanks bob.
Made it out to the shop today.
Put the now stripped out dash back in place.
Also the column/steering wheel.
Started to do a mock up on the brake pedal.
Like all things on this car it will need to be modified.
Picks tell the story.
Also....
My brother went and checked out the Town and Country wagon today.
Long story short. It's a don't walkaway from it project. It's a RUN from it car project.....
Too bad as its a cool Car.
Keep on keeping on.......
