'50 flathead 6

so i just purchased a (title) and its is a complete engine and auto 3spd. i want to just try to drop it in and see if it can run but if not i have to find a book or something to go off of for a rebuild and where to get the rebuild kit any ideas where to find this stuff?

Can you post a picture of the engine and trans? I'm not sure Ford had an automatic in 1950.

there is no shifter on the tranny just two linkages

"1950 Fords were basic cars. Transmission offerings were limited to the 3-speed manual (three on the tree!) with an optional overdrive that was touted as "automatic," in the sense that it would cut in at speeds above 27 mph and return to normal below about 20 mph."

so i am assuming its a stick with linkage... never seen it like that except on fwd but thats cool with me
