I stumbled onto a Packard at a carshow today, but it's got its lights at the conventional height.

Cool! Them are just Dietz hotrod lights - looks like he's got lots of battery power...

I was wondering about the battery power on that Packard too. I don't quite understand why you would need two blue tops in a hot rod.

Cage and lights look good! If you're putting door bars in, a friend of mine cut his door bars in his car a few years ago and put in swivels so he can remove the bar or get them out of the way for entry. He wished he had done it 15 years before. Swing out door bars are NHRA legal for 8.50 and slower.

Still undecided on the door bars, if I do, they will definitely be swing out. Getting too old to be a contortionist just to get in and out, it would really harsh the whole cruising experience...

plan on my door bars is to have them dip down so i can climb over them easily. a swing out is just something else for me to get tangled up in.

Got all the cage pieces tacked in place, just need to take it apart and finish weld it all. I think I will get the swing out pieces and add the door bars, yeah just install them when the need arises...

The cage looks really good.

To be NHRA legal the door bar has to pass between the stop of the shoulder and the elbow. I've seen door bars that don't conform and the cars are racing. so...
