I sliced and diced all weekend to get the body to sit right and and start to line up, with out loosing too much room inside, I will only lose 1" of orignal body inside the car, been thinking about making the front roof rails tie into the drip edge and making a visor come off the front rails, its just metal we can fix that.

It's been a while since I posted the floor is done, been getting the body lined up, and some inner supports in the roof area, plus kinda burned out on it for a week so my boys and I went to the Rat Rod Rumble last weekened, had a great time, I would like to thank all involved in the weekend for making it a good time, scored a nice set of Harley mufflers for 10 bucks, now my son wants me to mount them on the body line above the rear tires, said they would look like rocket boosters, I dont know about that ??? ratty yes, tacky NO !!! let me have your input on this, here are some updated picts.

The progess looks good LOWANDRATY. I don't think I'd mount the mufflers up on the side of the car like that but that's just me.

Ya the car is lookign great! i wouldnt mount the mufflers there either.

thanks guys, I didn't think the mufflers up there would look good either, prob. use some old cherry bombs instead, I dont think the harley mufflers will be loud enough, we'll see

I like the idea of the cycle mufflers above the rear wheels, but it just doesn't go with that particular car because of where the trim lines are.

Up dates on my build

Took the whole summer off of working on the rat to get things around my house done and help others out, now were back on it again, we finished the frame, and built rockers to fill everything in, doors are hung, been doing some body work, not too much !! just enought to keep it ratty, started filling in the roof today, made some good progress today, thanks to my oldest son.

Cold weather is gone and now very hot weather is here, I have gotten a few more things done, just can't decide on the red paint around the side windows ??? engine is done,I made the headers, just tacked myself and now being tig-d, cut up a 30 something dash, and started making wood for windshield support inside.

Everything is looking great.. i love the old chevys...

I may have missed it but whats the wheel base on it?

@ 130" If I had it to do over again I would not run the spring behind set up, I would turn the front spring perch around and run the spring over the axle, pull the front tires closer to the engine. I need all that extra front end for that big caddy motor, not a lot of hp maybe 250 to 300 but @ 500 ft. lbs. of torque, gotta keep it from flipping over on its back.

roof web

what size rod did you use for the roof web?
l have a 33 dodge and it has the big roof hole and l want to put a tonnue with snaps on the roof like you plan.
l really like the web desiegn, l want to do something like that on mine.
