CAD 500 auto to man trans???

i am startin to feel like i wanna switch to a manual trans. what can i mate to the 500 that is a swap out for the th400? if nothing ill drop the idea, but if something than absolutely, let me know! i already have my trans member welded in so hopefully its something in the ballpark for same mounting!

Here is the problem sometimes. Some crankshafts are not drilled for a pilot bearing. I don't know if the Cadillac is, but here are some people who know all about Cadillac racing stuff:

Yeah, the crank might be a big stumbling block.

The good thing is the 500 uses the BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) bellhousing pattern. So a bellhousing shouldn't be too tough to find, and should accept most GM trans.

I'd expect the flywheel, clutch, and starter stuff might be a difficult issue to match up.

I love to row gears, too, but I'd consider doing a shift-kit in the 400 and a ratchet shifter instead. Save yourself the conversion grief, and still have fun "shifting".
