Depends on how you are setting it up - ride height, etc. If you are sitting it really low you need a wider rear end to compesate for the way a sedan body tapers.
i always leave something out,it will be sitting low

im using a 9 inch out of ford truck for the width and matching bolt pattern.

I used one out of a 80's caprice classic for this build. It would not be wide enough if you run any larger tires. These are 5.5 wheels with 6.50 x20 cokers.
