I like having a lot of fuel so when cruising it's the last thing on my mine ;)
I plumed in the fuel line from the tank to the carb. Oh yea I installed the carb today too :D It's a new Quick Fuel 600 Street Fighter with electric choke and vacuum secondaries.
I was supposed to get the headers today but, we had an ice storm pass through the other day so I reckon that's what the delay is :(

I got my headers back from the powder coater today [cl
I stopped by a friends local speed shop and bought a bunch of small parts.
I put the water pump pulley and radiator hoses on.
I also made an alternator bracket this morning and bought a one wire to go on it.

Question about the engine painting. It looks like you just painted it all together? Did you remove the intake or valve covers or anything? Just wondering, any elaboration on how you did that would be interesting. It looks great!

Good eye on the painting after assembly.
The engine is a fresh rebuild and I left it completely assembled
I taped off what I didn't want paint on, put a set of old spark plugs in, taped the exhaust and intake holes so no paint would get on the inside of the engine.
I used adhesion promoter followed by 3 light coats with a 4th wet coat of Duplicolor 500 degree ceramic engine paint.

Looking good!!! Are you gonna have enough room for an air cleaner?
Pops, I tried addressing just that today
I Had no clue that breather clearance was going to be an issue [S
Tomorrow I'm gonna get a low profile breather and a 2 inch filter to try and see if that will work.

That Nailhead and those headers are looking sweet OI.[cl [cl
Torchie.

Thanks Torchie, it took me a long time to decide on the style of headers I wanted.

Looking great!! [cl [P
Thanks Sarge for checking in on me

I'm a sucker for unique valve covers and your motor is in that group. Keep up the good work.

MM, it just happened cause of being a tad short of funds at this time ;)

 Well, I had to lick my wounds today and re-due the clutch pedal :(
It seems I got so involved in the ascetic fabrication part that I miss calculated the leverage ratio of the arm.
Man was that thing hard to press to the floor
I moved the pivot point 1.5" closer too the clutch rod, added a couple bracket extensions and all is good now

Some times we can get hung up on the "Form over Function" aspect of it all OI.
Glad that you got it fixed. [cl
You paint your engines the same way I do. All assembled.
Torchie

:p Well, the sweating is over as far as the breather fitting under the hoods :D
In the first pic this is the amount I had to cut off the hood flange to get it to clear 1/4".
Second pic is the amount of total clearance 1/2"
Third pic is the alternator bracket finished except for painting.
Fourth pic, let's just say, I feel like I earned this one
