I used the factory, Duplicolor Pontiac Blue #1610 (kind of a robin egg blue with green tint) out of a can for my 40 Pontiac.
Painted the valve covers, tranny the same color and the accessory brackets semi-gloss black.
Intake is a Holley Street Dominator (natural aluminum)
I really like the color and combo.
If you get too many colors, it looks clownish.
Been there done that won't do it again.

Did you say oil stains ? There better not be any oil stains or oil leaks. As soon as i figure out how to put pictures on this site I'll well.

I got mine done up gloss black.... alum intake and valve covers, copper lines, looks pretty killer and puts the emphasis on the other stuff to make it pop rather than some insane color you have to clean every week. This is before the copper fuel lines etc.

I like the copper look but I'm still not sure on black because the fream is black and your going to see a lot of it and I guess I wanted the motor to stand a part that's all.

Yeah... They aren't supposed to leak
if they leak they didn't get sealed right or something isn't tight or the gaskets are bad.

I'm going to try using better paint, the spray can paint never seems to last long before it burns off.

There's always some seepage here and there but routine cleaning and a quality paint should prevent staining wouldn't you think.
I really can't tell because mine always end up dusty and grimy and stay that way. I'm just happy they don't leave puddles

I have a fondness for grey, it goes well with aluminum heads and manifolds

what I did

I'm getting in a little late been out for awhile. I painted the engine to match my car. The block color matches the top with the lettering matching the lower color.
