Found a 46 (I think) Chevrolet truck yesterday that has been sitting for many years. Complete but the engine has been pulled and is in the bed (probably bad) and has a home made steel bed. No tittle and some rust in floors. What would be a rough guesstimate that it would be worth?

How hard is it to get a title in TN? I'd know that before I dragged it out.Around here I would expect to pay not more than $300 or so for one with the door bottoms rusted out (and probably the cab corners ect.) and no title.

They try to get $600 plus for the cab alone around here. I want one but i won't pay that much. My problem is that i am old enough to remember when they were free for hauling them off. What is it worth to you is all that matters.

I'll agree it's pretty rough the bottom of the doors are gone no title u don't want all of it you'll just want the cab and perhaps the grill and at any scrape yard it's worth 30 cents a pound,it would only bring about 175 or 225 in scrap. If the owner is seeing gold and you see rust walk away if it was in better condition yeah I'd go 4-5 bills but that there 2 bills tops and thats it. GOOD LUCK

30 cents a pound would be $600 a ton!! I'm going to start hauling my scrap to NM!!

Getting a title in TN is impossible the county clerk lady just looked at me weird and told me No, like 15 times. You are better off going to KY or GA.
GA only requires bill of sale, insurance and GA drivers license for registration from what Ive been told.
I'm going next week to attempt to get my truck titled in KY, so Ill keep you informed.

Not to change the subject.... but....I know where in TN there is a kick butt little F100 for sale that needs finished....

I wouldn't give more than a couple hundred bucks for it. I am not trying to pee on your parade, but what you can see from the outside is just that. Usually, once you dig into it, the damage is worse. It's not at all hopeless, but there is some work there.

The bright side is there are good parts on there. Depending on your plan, you can sell those unwanted parts and easily pay for the truck. The windshield crank itself is worth quite a bit. That truck is just a little worse than the free '40 Chevy cab that I started with. I chopped it and sold the cab and doors alone for $600. I sold unwanted parts off of the '40 GMC I am currently working on and actually made money!

Good luck!
