Thanks Bob - Someday soon I'm going to build some type of rat open trailer and haul it all to Bowling Green KY with the rat truck. Either that or flat tow it...still have the old floating hubs lying about somewhere. I think the other racers would get a kick out of that rather than the usual four door dually and enclosed gooseneck trailer.

Hot and humid...about the norm in these parts. That evening was more of a test and tune as I was trying different Q-jets for effect.

Default My old oval track car

I have had like 5 of these over the years....still have one about 90% done in my pole barn...would love to run it again but.... they let Hondas in so we now run in the back of the pack...had a blast doing it too...once you do it, you never get it out of your system either...

Just picked this up off of CL. Like most old Chevies, it will need wood installed. Just from loading it in my truck, I am itching all over. The width is perfect, but it is about 20 inches longer than the former '32 Bantam body.

If I chicken out on using it, I am pretty sure i can get my investment back.

Kind of a sad story. The shop that made it had a fire, and all the molds were destroyed. 40+ years of building car bodies gone. This is likely the last one.

I just got the black shell. No front end available. I am thinking that tapering the running boards down to the cowl would fix that. We don't need no stinking... Open it up for two seats, follow the directions in the fiberglass thread. Nothin' to it! Right???

How do I make it look rusty?
The fiberglass body has a new home, and I have some down payment money for something made of steel. Didn't get hurt on storing it for a year.

The thing about a '39 Ford pick-up is that that ugly grille kinda' grows on ya' after a while.

Not taking anything too seriously.
