I am just finishing up on a refresh on my 74 F-250 and have ran into a hassle on my title. I call it a refresh because not really a restore I just got rid of all the rusty parts and put not rusty ones on. Just enough to make it safe to drive again and now you cant fall through the floor boards. Anyway, the cab which has the vin tag, was the main replacement. I bought a cab without a title. Got to checking with dmv and found out if I had a bill of sale from the last registered owner they would give me a title. I dont. The other route is give a lawyer some money and he will find all prior owners and see if they have any proof of leans. About 550$ and you have a clean and clear title. I'v found a way to avoid that it but if you live in MO and you need a title its possible.
