Carb's got me stumped!

I really need some help with figuring out what the Hell is wrong with my Edelbrock carb. If it sits overnight, I have a hard time getting the engine started. Once it starts the first time, it'll start every time after that, all day long. All it takes in the morning is just a whiff of carb cleaner, and Bam! it starts immediately and will idle all day, and runs good. This is a new development, and it's got me stumped.

First thing that comes to my mind is leak down....?

Thats what I thought of sam... either manual feul pump is leaking (could be going in oil pan ,,) see if your gaining oil level on stick or just smell the oil for gas sent .. Just my 2 cents see if your pump on carb is working just look down the barrel (not running) and push the gas leaver if you dont see two streams of gas shoot out . your pump plunger or diaphragm is shot .. this gives it that boost to start like your carb cleaner does .

Did you get your carb, fixed up animal ?

needle and seat are leaking or ^ the check valve in your pump is leaking.
