Yesterday and today......
Welded the rocker skins on yesterday. Also attached the rocker bump out.
Got up this morning and cut off the bump out and redid it. It just didn't fit right.
My poor attempt at Faux patina.
I need a lighter shade of grey.
Hung the trim back on for a look see.
Once I get some help I will put the door back on and then turn the car so I can get started on the PS.
That's it for now. Have a safe holiday weekend. Everyone in the states.
Keep on keeping on.....
Torchie

Thanks LB.
I agree with you on the fake patina.
My brother and i were discussing this very thing tonight.
Glad i only have to fake the rocker panels.😎
As I mentioned at the outset of this thread. The real patina on this car is what caught my eye to begin with.😎😎
Going to rest up tomorrow as my so called gout is flairing up in my right hand and elbow.
A safe 4th to all.

Don't give up, it's far too much fun once you can drive it.

The patina will blend right in when it's done.

Default 3 part post.

Started in on filling the hole in the trunk floor.
Metal is getting real scarce in my shop. These are 55 Gallon barrel lids.
I talked with my supplier and he suggested that since the floor was so rusty and I am gluing these patch pieces in to coat everything with POR 15 first.
I can't sheet metal screw as the gas tank is right up against the trunk floor.
To be continued...........

Default Part 2....

Jon stopped by so we hung the Drivers door.
These doors are Damn heavy. Even more so then the 2 door Dodge.Still needs a bit of adjustment.
The rebuilt hinges worked swell.
Just one more.....

Default Last one...

We turned our attention to the hood hinge.
No way can we pull the PS hood hinge back into place. The hinges sit back from the firewall so no direct pull is possible.
Lets try some heat and a grunt or 2.
NO good.
The hinge didn't budge a bit.
We unhooked the hinge springs to get the hood to close.
On to plan B....Which I haven't figured out yet.
Keep on keeping on....
