Trying again. I seem to have gotten pic from phone to lap top which is more than I could do last night. Now I'm getting a message that says a security token is missing. When I try to notify the administrator I get a message that says the site can't be reached.[S
 
I think the pics will upload. The header extensions are done. My buddy tig welded them with my welder. It was acting up The pedal wasn't working right, it was only working as an on-off switch. They came out nice considering. I bolted both together to simulate the header being attached so I can mock up where the steering shaft will go.

The front suspension, panhard bar, drag link, steering arm and steering rack are done. The bracket for the rack is only tacked in. the weld marks on the crossmember show how much I had to move it forward. 3/4". They were scribe marks I had put there with a cutoff wheel.

Had a semi productive weekend. I fix the welder. I found a bare wire for the fan that was grounding to the body. That explained getting zapped when I touched it. I also found that the switch for remote or panel was bad and replaced it. Works good as new. I still can't tig but that's not the welders fault. I mocked up the steering column and shafts. I used some 3/4 threaded rod I had laying around. It's cheaper than screwing up stainless dd shaft. I'm going to have to weld a piece of tube that is split into the path I cut trough the motor mount and make a mount for the hiem joint support. The column is really close to the brake pedal. I may have to shorten it a little.

The header extensions are because the lake style headers I'm using are for a car with a narrower cowl. Also the ports on the heads are rectangle shaped and the headers ports are oval.
 
A little more done this weekend. I made clamps for the steering column and cut the steering shafts to length. The clamp at the dash has tabs welded to it to mount under the dash. I cut an arch out of the bottom of th dash and welded in a piece of pipe. I did this to raise the column a little bit. The column is still really close to the brake pedal. I will have to modify the arm for the brake pedal. I still have to make panels to weld to the clamp at the firewall so I can bolt the column in there.

Catching up on your build kenny....looks great. 10-4 on the header extensions!

I had to go over to the outside of my frame with my brake pedal lever to give me some room. A picture but it's very dark.

I understand having to move the brake pedal. These early cabs are narrow. When you put a modern motor and trans in them you run out of room fast. I've been watching your build but I missed the spiderweb gussets, very cool.

That's for sure....I didn't think I could get it all to fit but it's clear now.

Very nice!! Steering is always fun!!! Never enough room but very important hahaha!! Keep it up!!
