There certainly wasn't any "blasting" there. Just honest advice. Same as received above from other seasoned builders. Like Don said, sometimes the truth ain't what ya wanna hear. However when you ask, be prepared to hear it. That front end belongs under a Triumph, and that's about it. Build your Ford axle and have something strong, safe and serviceable...

The triumph front end is kinda funky. I'm guessing that it's from a tr-7. But reminds me a lot like that of a volare front suspension. The way I see it, if you're a good fab man you should be able to stretch the crossmember to fit or even narrow the frame. With that being said, safety is a huge issue and you need to be very confident in your welds and make sure everything is square. If not your car will go down the road dog legged. Of course, if you really want a straight axle instead and are just contemplating the triumph because of price, go with a straight axle. You'll be money and time ahead in the end.
