Part 1.

It's a trunk day.
First Pic is just a reminder of where we started.
Metal pieces glued down. Trunk floor is Good and strong and sealed.:D
I used my rocker panel chip guard to coat the entire inside of the trunk.
You can throw 3 bodies in there now if you wanted too.
A proper Cadillac.:eek::cool::p[ddd

Part 2

In keeping with the spirit of using up as many of my odds and ends as possible........
Went down into the crypt and came back up with these. The last of my commercial floor tiles.
We used these on the floor of my Daughters 60 Chevy.
I have 8 left. 18"x18". Should be enough to do the bottom of the trunk and maybe the sides and back.
I will glue these down.
That's it for today.
Keep on keeping on.....

That ought to make the blood easier to wipe up!:eek:[ddd[ddd[ddd

I was thinking along those same lines, Bama. Torchie sure doesn't want any blood dripping onto the road off all those bodies in that huge trunk. :p

It's big. That's for sure.:eek::cool::cool:
Going to work on the side cardboard panels.
See if I can save them.
This one is from the Drivers side.
It is the worse of the two.

I survived the 7 a.m Physical Therapy.
Was going to nap, but couldn't get comfortable so out to the shop I went.
The cardboard side pieces are in rough shape. Did the best I could to put them back together. Then I reinstalled them.
As long as I don't keep putting them in and taking them out they should be ok.
I gave them 2 coats of my favorite stuff. Rocker panel chip guard. It sticks to anything.:p
Cadillacs are interesting as they did things like metal plates to hide the door hinges and in the trunk these pieces. They go up against the lower edge of the trunk and hide the unsightly wiring from the back up lights. So they went back in . Of course I hit them with the chip guard too.:D
I am still on the fence with regards to using the floor tiles. But since I have them I will see what I can do.
At this point the trunk is very black. And I have no doubt that it will hold water.:p
I may spray the card board pieces grey to lighten things up. Or not........
Keep on keeping on.....

Dull but necessary.....
Jon stopped by so we worked on the hood hinge and then turned the Caddy around. Time for the Passenger side.
Used a pipe wrench on the hinge this time. Got the inner arm on the hinge straight.
The back edge of the hood is still up off the cowl a bit. I think hinge adjustments may take care of this.
Not many pics as I was holding up the hood:eek:
We then turned the caddy around in the shop to get to the PS.
I thought this was the better side of the two.
Outer rocker skin not so much. The floors appear to be better though.
I will know more once I dig into it.
Keep on keeping on....
Torchie.

As a Doctor once said to me.......
"Karl. Sometimes you just have to lift the sheet to see what's underneath."[ddd
I lifted the sheet on the PS.:eek::eek:
Glad this is the good side.[;)[;)[;) [;)

I guess a guy needs something to do:rolleyes: It's the first look that is over whelming, after that it's just a little steel and a little welding  [P[P

Hey it looks as good as I did at 72 maybe better :p [cl
Keep it up [;)
Better than me at 65.:eek::p

Somehow I just don't see Torchie getting overwhelmed by a little rusty metal...[;)[P
Thanks Small. I may start a you tube channel called "Rust Busters.":D:p

No real progress today.
Jon must have not liked moving the Caddy with floor jacks. I got a call from his local parts store. These were waiting for me. Good friend.:D
They aren't under the tires yet. I was doing squats yesterday at PT and I wasn't sure if I got on the floor I could get up again.
Too bad all the door panels aren't like this one
.
Back at it tomorrow.

Started in on the passenger side rust today.
In some ways it is better than the DS in others.... About the same.[;)[;)[;)
I also centered my Chi enough to get down on the floor and get the skates under the ratty caddy.:p
Brother is coming by tomorrow to continue our quest for a properly closing hood.[cl
I know this stuff is boring and I thank all of you for your comments. It helps to keep me motivated.:cool:
Keep on keeping on....
