I read years ago that painting the Golden Gate bridge was a continous process subject to weather conditions. However the frequent mild earthquakes happen without warning. That is a breathtaking veiw from the top when the bridge is steady but what about when it is swaying in an earthquake?

Interesting story from Readers Digest 40 years ago. A police detective was
behind a '65 Mustang crossing the bridge one morning when the Mustang swerved and stopped. The detective found the woman driver was dead with a bullet hole behind her ear. The bullet had come from off the bay thru the right rear quarter window which was the only open window. A man was plinking with his rifle out on the bay off his boat when unknown to him a bullet ricocheted off the water.Another twist.The two were aquainted.
