Don't give up, it's far too much fun once you can drive it.

Bob W was so right when he commented that I'd fall out of love with the basic plastic rim Grant wheel, so today I got busy and made something completely different. I wanted a wood rim wheel or Banjo style but nothing I could find made me happy or was priced insanely... I wanted a rustic Banjo with a 4" dish, about 15" diameter so this is what I came up with. Rebar for the rim and 3/16" stainless for the spokes, a piece of 1/8" stainless plate for the hub, drilled to fit the usual 3 hole mount. Not sure how I'll do the rim, wood, bondo, resin or maybe even rope?? Taking it with me when I head back to Yuma on Jan 2 for a project to keep me busy while getting my tan back...

Very Nice ZZ! How about fiberglassing that bugger? Just build it up and turn it on a lathe if that rim is true to round?

Build it up out of bondo or resin, then wrap it with cord or leather strips like shoelaces. Leather would be my preference. Glove leather would look good, too, but involve a lot of stitching.
