I have several cameras working but 2 of them for some reason, have a high incidence of animals laying down right at the camera, or just hanging around in frame,, I guess doing gut checks on battery life! The cam pix in the last 2 posts had shots from one camera. It took 612 pix in 30 days. I bet over 200 of them were of that little peach fuzz spike buck. He layed down at the camera for a while and just milled around for a while. Here's a shot from another cam of a bear that spent some time laying next to the camera.

Wow, I did'nt realize those existed in Florida.

I grew up in Michigan and went deer hunting a few times through the years. When I moved to Florida I asked about deer hunting down here - I talked about the type of rifle I had, some of the deer I had bagged, etc and the guy I was talking to said "You don't use a gun to hunt deer in Florida. They're so small down here that you just wrestle them to the ground." :D

I like seeing pics like this, keep 'em coming!

Date is wrong on this as I had replaced batteries and didn't reset the time stamp. This big boy slipped in from the south on 6-21-23

I consider myself lucky. If I didn't see wildlife in a days time out here, I probably didn't get up...:(
Right now, there are lots of little ones running around and it's changed some of the normal behavior. It's normal for a deer or two to bust out across the road or having to slack off to let the turkeys get across. Twice a year the bears move thru here to and from mating rituals thousands of years old. Neighbors have cows so coyotes hang around. I believe the only animal I don't have a picture of that roams here is a panther. I've seen 3 in my lifetime but never had a camera when needed.

Makes me think back to a remarkable day when i was driving over the road. Drove north on 385 in Texas toward Ft Stockton in the middle of the day. First it was Hawks on every single fencepost in one stretch. Over 30 of them. Next was more Buzzards in one area than i had ever seen. Up the road a freakishly large Lynx "flowed" over the fence just as i passed. It's body was so long it wasn't a quick hop. Black tufts on it's ears and a bobtail identified it but i first thought it was a very large cougar. Last a pack of 7 or 8 black Wolves crossed the road in front of me right beside a farmhouse.

A project like that has to have a good plan and a vision from the start...
Here's a couple more that took some planning.
