Hi guys, I just picked up this old Stude and was wondering if anyone here has done this swap. I've got two S10 donors here already and would like to use what I have. I know 47-54 Chevys work out pretty nice. I have a '54 in the shop now so I'm fairly familiar with those. I built an old M5 years ago on the original frame, but I've never done a frame swap on one.

swapped

several people on here have swapped S1O chassis under many different makes of rods and trucks so it should not be that big of a challenge.

there is a couple of AD chevy trucks, a 5Oish dodge truck and l think a 4Oish truck or two on the site.

search google and stuff should show up on other folks who have done this swap.

Later

Thanks for the links. That '46 Dodge looks very similar in size and shape. I think a short wheelbase S10 will work out nicely.

I have noticed that the "swell" in the s-10 can get in the way sometimes on swaps, but just a minor thing. I am preparing to do a 48 stude on an s-10 in the future, so post away on your build . I would love to see it.

there is one here in town, 50s stude on s10, I always seem to see it at harbor freight go figure. I looked it over pretty good the first time I saw it and it didnt look too much crazier than any other s10, except the body sat really low on the frame, like how a 46 chevy does.

somewhere in my picture archives I have a shot of a white 50s stude with the whole s10 firewall windsheild and dash used in addition to the frame. that was a cool one.
