Here it is folks. The rolling chassis, minus a few details. Turning my attention to the body. Today I mounted the rear tires to the rims with my trusty tire irons. Got a fair bit of welding to do. Then some grinding. Remember, the goal is to have a roadster that looks like it was built on an extreme budget by kids that didn't possess tools or experience. That's me. Fixed income, old primitive tools and entering my second childhood.

It's a 305 dressed out as a 283. If I had a pair of rebuilt 283 power pack heads that would have sealed the deal. I do have the heads but am too cheap to have them done.

If this roadster becomes a favorite, then I'll do it.

A bit under the weather today, but I did work on door latch mounting. Got a pair of Speedway T
Bucket door latches.

Also, the furnace broke last night so I was cutting firewood just in case it wasn't an easy fix. It was.

Had to tilt her to do some welding on the bottom. Squirt a little primer around. Body will go back on the chassis in a couple of days. Found another pic of what this thing should look like.

All the welding is done on the bottom. Speedway door latches installed. Time to put the body on the chassis. That's what I did. Lots of little assembly jobs and a bit of fabrication left. Thinking it needs a hood top.

Thanks for following along.

Yes, soltz, that's the vibe I want. Decided to not channel it so I would sit lower, out of the wind.

Starting in the back, I brushed seam sealer to cover all the bad work. Shimmed the body mounts to get the doors to open and close properly. Made and welded in a battery mount. Installed the gas tank and plumbed it. Had to make some mods to the original '49 Pontiac tail lights to fit some sockets.
