Just thought it would be fun to start a thread on how you found the site.

I joined In September 2012, right after the Radium Hot Springs, BC car show. I was looking online for pictures of ZZRodder's 34 Cadillac that I saw at the show, and I found this page. I didn't post anything until January 2013, though.

How did you get here?

in 2015 I was looking for a place to hang out with non uptight members and fun builds... found it right here and never left for more than 24 hrs ever since ...

Couldn't remember, but according to my "profile", I joined in 2012. Reason? I am interested in inventiveness and originality more than in a perfectly painted run of the mill 32 Ford with an SBC in it. This is back to the basics, like someone said, "Window glass is over-rated" - imagination and simplicity = ratrods.

I was on the HAMB. It was pretty nasty over there at that time. I bemoaned the fact and Don of Don's rods PM'd me and told me about this site. So much better here.

Joined 1/2018. I have always loved Rat Rods and think a search got me here. I do not have a pre 80's vehicle but those on here are OK with it. I'm semi retired and my Wife is set to semi retire in June. Just not in the budget right now. Love the builds here. Jim

I've only been here a little more than a year.... I did a rat rod search looking for Dodge Rat Rods and Bruno's build came up. I joined and probally badgered the hell out of Bruno. He was very kind and answered all of my questions. Even shared his front end vendor info with me. (Thank you Bruno)

I was spending some time over at killbillet where I met Old Stuff and a fellow named Gene who really helped me out a lot. It was only Gene an Old Stuff over there and not enough action. I started spending more time here. I do miss talking with Gene.

I was also spending some time over at the HAMBURGER and man those guys are rough. I have found a few helpful guys over there but there are a lot of keyboard commandos.

You guys over hear are just super, very supportive and very helpful. I feel bad cause I take much more than I give. You guys are years ahead of me and I doubt I'll ever catch up but I hope at some point I can give more than I take.

I really appreciate you guys.

I had about the same experience. I had bought a 36 Dodge pickup on a Toyota pickup frame and started a build thread, boy was that a mistake! I was informed right quick it wasn't "traditional" according to their definition. Somebody, I don't remember who now, sent me a PM with a link to here, so I joined up.

I'm still on the HAMB, but I don't post many pics of my car because it doesn't fit their guidelines. There are still a lot of keyboard warriors over there as well as overzealous moderators, so I have to watch what I do post. There is a lot of info over there, you just have to cut through their BS to get to it sometimes.

Joined in 2011. I was just starting my 45 Willys and googled old hot rods to get ideas:p. The rest is history as they say (who ever they are [S)
This is my first site I’ve been on and the only one I’m on:D
Great group some older some younger [S
Thanks Triper[cl

I also joined in seltember of 2012. I stumbled across the sirlte looking at other rats in the interweb. I spent a lot of my time at killbillet in the early days, but that flopped hard. Everyone here is easy to relate to cause we all have the same thing in common, a carcaine problem!!!

Thanks for all the fun times guys!! Everyone here helps keep this site relevant!!

There is something unique and rebellious about having the creativity of doing the opposite of the status quo which harkens back to my youth admiring the cars of the throaty strip downs and customs without paint jobs by the gang bangers in my hood during the 50”s and 60’s. So after jumping back into that game after 20 years of raising three daughters, and now a widower, I needed to find a place of like minded crazies to rap with when not bumping elbows at the car meets.

……so here I am

I was googling rat rods and this site popped up.
I'm a point blank type and the simple rules appealed to me, the rest is history.

This is basically a board for ratty type cars, trucks & bikes but I don’t care what you post as long as it’s in the proper section. If it has wheels & a motor... I can dig it! PLEASE... Be Nice! I promise... it's not that hard!

Four very simple rules of the road...

1) Please... Be Nice!
2) Please... No personal attacks, fighting or flaming!
3) Please... No pornography!
4) Please... No racist posts!!!

If you think you can’t abide by these 4 simple rules... feel free to leave!

That`s all...

I had been wandering around on the internet looking at hotrods for a while, getting ideas. I was already building a '36 Ford truck and had been building things most of my life. The computer scared me somewhat, so it took me a little while to get the courage to join this group in Jan 2013. The rules were second nature to me already so that wasn't a problem. I joined and never looked back. This is the best club to be in, for the new ideas, the comradery, the helpful hints, and best of all, pictures of hotrods.
Thank you Tripper. Thank you, to the rest of you guys.

I was on a couple of other sites who's names will not be spoken that were full of know it all morons fighting & cussing each other out constantly... just couldn't take it anymore! I said at the time, If I wanted to fight all the time... I'd just talk to my ex! Being around adults is more my style! [ddd:eek::D

All the responses are good, but this one made me laugh as it's extremely relatable! [cl[cl[cl

Thanks for making this place, you brought us all together.

Pretty much OI's response for me as well. Googling around, found this site...lurked for a bit, found everyone here super supportive, honest but gentle, couldn't find better people in my opinion!
