Default Looking for serial number location on binder p/u.

Where can I find the serial numbers on a 1954 or 55 IH pickup. Plate on door is gone. Can I find them on the frame somewhere?

We used to have a bunch of IH guys here.

From what I've found, you should have a number stamped on the frame, behind the front driver side spring hanger/shackle.

Problem: It's not a complete serial number... though it can determine the year when plugged into the following chart, the prefix/model code will remain unknown.

Sorry, that doesn't help much!

Thanks Dr. C. I will check it out today. I thought there were some binder fellows on here also, but , hey , its a lead to look into. Again, I appreciate the effort.
