Thanks Bman.
As long as I’m not a “ liar. liar. It’s all good.
Another day. Another floor frame/ body mount.

Looking good, 1x2 tubing makes a great foundation. What wall thickness is it? If it's thinwall like .063, I'd recommend welding a sleeve into the tube so it doesn't crush down when you crank the mount bolts down. If it's 1/8" then that's probably not an issue

It’s 1/8. ZZ.
Heavy stuff which is why I went with it.
When I channeled the truck cab on my last build I used 1x1 that was 16 gauge.
This body is way heavier of course.
I will have at least 4 of these as cross members and main body mounts.
Then I will fill in as necessary with the 1x1.
The floor will be 18 gauge.
I tend to over build when doing things like this.😎

Moving forward.....
No Way to bend this heavy wall stock so relief cuts and welds it is.
Fits good.
Now to decide the thickness of the damper pads .
The frame swoops downward as it goes towards the firewall . I’d like to follow that so I can have as much room between the floor and the bottom of the dash as possible.
It will either be a puck (1” thick) or 2 layer of recycled rubber flooring ( 3/16” thick.)
I’ll decide that tomorrow.
Keep on keeping on.....
Torchie.
