Nice work on the doors and the chop.

What do you have planned to tidy up the lower part of the cowl?

Hi IR Pops

I love this build...I purchased in late August a Pilot-House cab off of a dump truck that I think I might be putting on my current build which is a 1952 Chevy that is shown on my avatar...I am also looking for a full fendered Pilot-House to do over when I get sick of the open wheeled project.
Yours looks awesome so far...keep the pictures coming...you are giving me lots of ideas.

Thanks guys.

Dirtyrat-This cab is so wide, it was just screaming dually!!

Wendel-When I get my suspension and ride height figured out I plan on
Doing a complete rebuild on the front cowl including shortening it.
Lots to do and nothing but time to do it.

Mike- thanks. There is a local guy here in the Albuquerque area that has
Fifty to sixty dodge vehicles. Nothing but mopar stuff! I'm just
Starting this build and he already has me hooked on 2 more.
I'll put up some pics in the AM.

Considering a viser to help the front appearance.
Any thoughts?

Here's an idea that I've always thought would look cool on the Pilot House trucks. I've been meaning to pitch it to Skull but just haven't taken the time so I'll post it here for you and I'm sure he'll find it too ;)

To me in stock form the windshield on these trucks goes too high into the cab compared to the rest of the windows

.......so what if one were to chop the windshield opening down to align with the top of the side windows [;) The photo shop work is crude but you get the idea.

Might be an option. Cool build by the way. [cl[cl

not happy cuttin, up your'es now ya gotta cut up mine:D:D

seriously, l like that roof mod, if l keep the 1952 dodge 5 window truck l have out back, that would look cool[;)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

taking the hump out of the door looks good, the fenderless look will go good with the direction you're truck going.

keep the updates coming.

Later

I really like the look of all the windows around the cab being the same height, definitely gets my vote... It jsut gives it that lok like it was that way from the factory, even though you know its been chopped

Progress

I got the frame finished up today so I can start putting things together.

Snake Farm- I agree, these cabs have a huge wind shield. Even after chopping
4 1/2" it's still big. I'm either going to lower the top line of it or put a visor on.
Great suggestion, thanks.

Tim-OK Thanks for the kind words.

Dirty Rat- The windows in this cab almost made me pass on it. They are looking better to me now but still need yo work on them a little.
My biggest problem right now is getting some phase of this thing finished. I'm all over the please on it.
By the way I'm liking your build.

Thanks,
POPS

Would love to see the pics of the 50-60 dodges you spoke of... I'm hooked on the 41-47 dodge trucks...
Maybe someday!

I hear you on the "getting something to its completed stage" sometimes its overwhelming... I have been bouncing around from thing to thing and not completing things....

Hey Dirty Rat,

Funny you should mention 42-47 models, that's exactly what
I trying to buy.

I think he is high on his prices. Maybe not for complete trucks.

The 47 got a little hot from a fuel tank fire.

These are the only pics I took cause this is what I'm interested in.

Swap meet

Went to the swap meet in Los Lunas Saturday
Picked up a pair of seats out of a Jag, leather no less, perfect fit. $40.00
Also got a tilt steering wheel for $25.00

Just need some shop time to get more done on my dodge.

My 38 year old son fractured his hip (severe)at work and has to have
Hip replacement this week. No insurance and workmanship comp is tryng to claim he had some kind of pre-existing condition.
I hate those damn insurance company's !!! Need to help him and his family out
this month.

DirtyRat,
He wants $3200.00
I'm thinking $1500.00
Maybe we can get together some where in between.

pics-more cab work

Got a plan for droppin top of windshield another 3"
That will make a total of 7-1/2" I have dropped it!
That thing had a huge front windshield.

I need to catch up on my welding. But wanted my cab
mounted solid to make all final adjustments.

New to me seats and steering wheel.

1st step on front end.
Hey its all progress, right?

Looks much better with a lower brow line there. and the seats look really nice, good call!

Too bad on the price, definitely not worth 3200, least not in the condition it is...

Still a really cool Powerwagon, I hope you work out the deal!

Thanks DR and thanks for the lead on the intake. Is this close to your location?

The guy with the power wagon called and said he would go 2000. I'll bet I can buy that thing for 1500 in 30 to 45 days. Divorce spells need money bad.
