Floors

Floors done. Made them so I could remove sections if I ever needed to.
Now that I did that, I don't really know that I'll ever need to remove them.
Oh well it's there if needed.

Glass

Got front windshield and rear center glass in.
Not having much luck with the corner glass. I broke the right side while sanding it down.

Any one have the right side rear corner glass for a '48 Dodge Pilot House?

Thanks Sarge.

I was watching the plasmacam do its thing through the wire glass in the door and thought that would be something different on the Big Butt Dodge.
My glass cutting guy thought I was nuts but he took my money anyway.
Go figure.

Something I have to sort out is the size of the glass when using a stock seal. Specifically how much smaller than the opening in the steel is the glass cut to...

Seriously, if I ever do another truck, it will have a split windshield... and hopefully one that tips out at the bottom...

Sorry to hear you broke the glass, were you cutting it down or was that part done and just sanding the edges then?

This glass thing is new to me. I ordered the seals and I don't think they are even close to the originals. The rear corner glass is out of a '48 dodge but it is about 1/4" bigger than the opening. I figure it was in a offset type seal and that's not what I got so I tried to sand it down to use this seal.

I thought I was doing good and I was getting it pretty close when it exploded.
I think maybe I was crowding it too much and got it too hot.

Live and learn.

dehumping pass side door. If I had one more to do I think I would have this figured out.

Finally got pedals installed. No more driving by wire. Baling wire that is, for the accelerater.

Got throttle cable and trans. kick down cable hooked up and adjusted.

I went for a short ride to check out the kick down adjustment and the motor died out. Luckily it was all down hill back to the house.
Had to put a new electronic ignition box on it.
Dang thing was only 40 years old.

That's the best dehumping job I've seen in quite a spell.

The whole truck is coming along well. Keep up the good work.

I hear ya Billy.
There was a time that if it wasn't chrome and didn't cost two pay checks I didn't want it. Now if it is chrome and expensive I don't want it.

I'm just ready to get finished with this thing and drive the hound out of it.

Thanks for the compliment Bob.
I think there's a joke in there somewhere regarding that dehumping thing.
I wish I had thrown the rusty drivers side door away and bought the mate to the passenger side. But instead I'll just keep on beating and banging.
