Mom does look happy. Sure like all the room you guys have there.

That 24x24 shop sounds nice. A big lift should fit fine in there. [cl

III am thinking of calling the next one "bam" because once I hit "start" on all the parts it will be like BAM! HERE'S A TRUCK!

Good work and congratulations on both properties!

11 ft ceilings! maybe a lift will fit.. hmmm.

I hope you're short. I have a pitched ceiling that "squares off" around 11' 6", depending on the vehicle's profile. I can rarely use the lift's maximum height, which doesn't always work well with me @ 6' 2". (I'm not complaining. It's the best money I ever spent, but it does have its shortcomings.)

You could hang a truckload of potatoes however, whatever that means. ;)

haha its an older meme about the people who get featured on house hunters,

fsuv32a1cc9y.jpg

it generally means being of absolutely no value haha.

Very nice. On the lift subject. my ceiling is 11'9''. I have two lifts in my shop. The newer one is a 7000 lb Rotary brand, it has the cables over the top and fits under the ceiling but the hydraulic cylinders poked holes in the ceiling when I put it all the way up the first time  made two perfectly round holes in the plaster. I needed the full 12'. the older one has chains that run from side to side on the floor. It works fine but you have to watch the ceiling when putting taller vehicles all the way up. I have a nice crescent moon above that lift where a beacon on the roof of a plow truck bumped into the ceiling.:D

finished up the lower mount, bad third picture but it shows the column centered on the gauges.

popped out a quick stand for the gas pedal, needs a tweak but really happy.

I had the steering shaft hole in the wrong spot as usual, an inch too high. got it moved and installed the firewall boot. the column has a second boot on the bottom and it matches up to the firewall perfectly. woop!

I love mowing, last year I mowed my lot and the new lot without a complaint. I expect no impact to my junk.

The only mowing I want to do is open the gate so the cows can graze my grass in the pasture.

Your truck is coming along. Keep hammering on it!![cl[cl:cool::cool:

Hey, joe? Is the brake pedal from an automatic or standard? I sure like the "hook" and offset, which we'll need to have for our coupe project...

.

no worries, glad I could help.

got the column mounted final and the steering hooked.

had to rotate the splined u joint 90 degrees because the upper joint was rotated 90, new part from a new supplier, probably wont use again. notice that the factory rubber boot fits perfectly against the firewall too. gas pedal mount worked perfectly too.

started laying in harnesses, really happy with how this pass through lined out, perfect spacing to the booster and room for the hood springs.

dan wanted some quad gauge mounts and so I popped them out for hiim. his truck is super nice, 22" coys, 5.3 that really rips.

you can see I did my gauges too on the left there, cut the pieces to mount the s10 steppers.

the slot is for the S10 odometer, I would rather use the "prindle" display (PRNDL) but they are separate and of the two I think odo is the right choice.

made a tray for the PCM, recessed it in the inner so it will clear the s10 HVAC on the firewall. learned this on the last one, who says I cant be taught?

designed and cut the distribution box mount too.

will put the HVAC in tomorrow and then the battery tray, need the HVAC to tell me where the battery fits.

took off the s10 wheel and put the chevelle wheel on. some people dont know that GM splines have been the same since the 40s and an old wheel will fit a new column, if you take the airbag clockspring off that is. gotta watch your dish though, flat dish wheels can block the high beam switch and hit your knuckles on the switch while turning.

more tomorrow.
