The truck arrived at my shop today so it begins. I will do a thread if you guys want. I understand if not. Believe me I would rather be working on my 52 but I gotta pay bills and eat so this is all I can find to do, just seems nobody around here wants to be creative with anything. So here goes another long drawn out resto.
I had to move the 52 to its new winter home today also.:(

I tried to talk him outa doing a restore but he says make it perfect. So I will try to do it as he wants it. Besides it really is a very rare truck.

Started blowing it apart today. Had to make the hood work first, very time you opened it from the left side it slide off the right side. Got that all fixed and started wrenching. after I got those add on turn signal lights off the tops of the fenders I found that the truck was always red same color there as on the fire wall.

I know what you mean. On my Lincoln, the rubber was inside the door jamb, a kinda "L" shaped piece. I had to take a hammer and chisel to get the hard mess off! Whatever kind of rubber they used back then, when it gets older, it gets hard as a rock. I've still got to find something to replace mine with that I can glue down.

These will be shipped to a guy in Ga. he molds them just like the factory did. Very expensive but we had him do a set for a 40 Chevy coupe we did and they were so nice we didn't even want to put them on the car. And yes the chit is rock hard and about an inch thick. I used a air chisel on most of it then a propane torch and a sharp scraper with very low heat to get the rest of it off.

got the box off and the cab is just kinda sitting there waiting to get the steering outa they way. Sent all the other parts out to media blasting today also. This truck is just amazing how solid it is.
