if i remember correctly,,the copper look is a middle stage in the chrome process,,,just pulled and used -pre chroming...
but further research needed,,

Yup, I was thinking that was the underlying coating under chrome. Be a pain to keep shiny but would patina out easily...

I think chrome process is copper, then nickel before the chrome. I bet you could make a tub and do that plating yourself.
