Grande Prairie car show

The North Peace Bracket Racers put on the Spring Spectacular car-show every spring for a while now. Here are some pictures of some of the entries.

Cool stuff! The purple and white Pontiac is from Edmonton. He's had that car a number of years, and just last year got it back on the road after a long hiatus.

E-man The Desoto is a favorite of mine too. Fins, fins, fins.
Sno-pro, You are partly right. There is a guy in Valleyview who makes these trucks. I think he takes an S-10 Chev, but makes them into a mock AD Chevy instead of a mock Studebaker. It's the same principle, though.

Ah, yeah I remember seeing those around too. Not as much lately.

'38? Dodge

This is nice.

A friend had one with 40 Ford headlights. That didn't look right.

Not as good as this tho'.

It is a nice car, alright. The guy who owns it was getting tired walking up to the front of the room to collect yet another trophy. I don't know if that car won, but some of his others did.

I went to another show in Grande Prairie, our nearest city. It was my 56's maiden voyage, with some misadventures. When I stopped to register before I washed the car, [on site], I couldn't get it started again, some guys pushed the car to a parking slot, ---- still dirty, so my entry stayed dirty throughout the show. Mrs. Mac was following me with the pickup, so we went home and got some tools and electrical stuff and returned. One of my buddies stayed after the show to help me. He watched while I turned it over. He saw spark jumping from the 'electronic ignition' coil to it's mounting bracket. I just wrapped it up with electrical tape and it started right up. I was determined to wash the car even though the show was over, so I did and then came home.
