wet side, washington state
l have fuel tank that has the dimensions of;

circumference 38 inches around,

side to side length 65 inches,

top to bottom 11 inches tall,

l came up with about 7.6 gallons, don't know if it correct. forgot the dot to separate the figures of
what l came up with.

need aprox gallons of this tank,

Water weighs 8.34 lbs /gallon. Weigh the tank empty, fill with water, weigh again, subtract empty weight then divide by 8.34 and that will give you gallons.
 
You also have to take into consideration that the area above the bottom of the fill spout is unusable.
Total Volume = 26.74 Gallons US
Filled Volume = 23.42 Gallons US

figure for cubic inches and divide by 231, your example is about 24.5 us gallons. the round ends would require more math than my brain can survive.

there's a little Buick in every US gallon, get it? 231ci.
